Swedish slots provider Thunderkick is very successful at releasing titles that are somewhat strange but always fun and surprising.

The game draws inspiration from the mobile game Angry Birds. The graphics are very cartoony, colourful and simple. The game also seems to be made with mobile gamblers in mind: the gameplay is straightforward without too many frills or special effects.

Birds on a Wire is far from childish, though: the video slot has medium to high variance, thanks to multipliers up to 20 x and the fact you can get multiple payouts per spin.

Birds on a Wire gameplay and features

Birds on a Wire has the standard five reels with three symbols per row. As mentioned before: most symbols are all kinds of cute feathered friends. The way the bird symbols hit the reels has been thought up nicely: they come flying in and nest on the three wire lines.

The big fat one is Wild. If a winning combination drops on the reels, the poor bridies in question get electrocuted and go up in smoke.

Also, the multiplier (starting at 1 x) increases by +1. This process repeats itself until you have no winning combination anymore. The highest multiplier possible in the base game is 5 x.

It needs to be said: although the base game is not abundant in originality, it results in a very smooth and fun gaming experience. The bird animations will probably put a little smile on your face (at least in the beginning).

Bonus round Birds on a Wire slot

You activate the bonus game by spinning three or more scattered bonus symbols. This gets you 10 free spins and increased multipliers.

Each extra bonus symbol activating the bonus also awards you an additional two free spins, resulting in up to 34 free spins.

Birds on a Wire is a decent high variance slot, but nothing more. The idea is nicely executed, and the various birds have a great cuddle factor. The slot also has a few visual feats (who or what hides in the bonus box?), but as far as we’re concerned, it lacks depth nonetheless.

The bonus game makes up for a lot as it can reward you exceptionally well.

Birds on a Wire is very suitable to play on a mobile device. This slot may not be for everyone, but we expect it to attract its fair share of dedicated fans.
